How many more lives has to be taken among black men and women, and people of color before the laws change on the books? The late John Lewis stated “if you see something, say something”, do something. This statement is not just for the African-American community, this is for all races of people. If you have a conscience; how can any of us sit back and watch the social injustices that are occurring at a rapid pace and do nothing or say anything to make a difference?
I commend the NBA players and the other professional sports entertainment teams for taking a stand and showing that life is more important than a game of entertainment. Their compassion, concern for society as a whole and their commitment to say and do something is to be praised. It’s a sad day in America to see and hear our government leaders bickering over subject matters that are so important to the health and well-being of us all.
Domestic violence by our own police force, the very same people who suppose to protect and serve us and to keep us from harm; are the ones who are committing such crimes which are resulting in the deaths of innocent people. These officers’ are getting away with cold-blooded murders and assaults on individuals with such behaviors. And for those who may survive such brutality are scarred for the rest of their lives and have to live with the consequences of someone else’s neglect, that has cause them to suffer physically, emotionally, financially and even spiritually. This madness has to stop. How many more black men, women and people of color has to be shot, become disabled or killed before this current government will do something? Change the laws! Stop protecting police officers’ abusing their authority.
For all the politicians’ regardless of the color of your skin; when are you going to take a stand, come together and get on one accord to put a law in place that will stop the murders of innocent victims from being killed by your own entity? The platforms each of us have should be used for the betterment of society.
Lawmakers, Congress, or whatever level of government you are involved with; including Donald Trump and the Vice President Mike Pence, when are many of you going to start using your platform with honor and dignity?
To honor God with your mouths and lips, yet your heart is far from Him is unacceptable behavior. Stop using the name of the lord in vain. “These people draw near to me with their lips, But their heart is far from me. Matthew 15:7-8.
